Thomas Kovacs, MD

Dr. Kovacs is Director of the CURE Clinic and Associate Director of the Human Studies Core of the CURE: DDRCC.  He carries out numerous industry-sponsored studies related to treatment of esophageal, gastric and duodenal disorders.  Dr. Kovacs has carried out many physiological studies on regulation of gastric acid secretion by hormones and neuropeptides.  He used immunoneutralizing gastrin monoclonal antibodies to prove the importance of circulating gastrin in mediating the gastric acid secretory responses to food, to bombesin, and to sham feeding in conscious dogs.  He also participates actively in the clinical trials of Dr. Jensen.
