  Antibody/Radioimmunoassay Core

PRODUCTS AVAILABLE

During the past years antibodies have been produced against numerous peptide and protein antigens. A special area of interest has been mapping of receptors using antibodies raised against synthetic peptides derived from cDNA structures. The Core also has developed new radioimmunoassays and methods for fluorescent labeling of peptides that retain biological interactions with receptors.

New Antibodies:

Anti-CRF Polyclonal Antibody

Anti-rat pituitary adenylate cyclase activating polypeptide (PACAP)

Monoclonal antibody to histidine decarboxylase

Monoclonal antibody to Galanin

phospho MRLC polyclonal antibody

phospho MYPT polyclonal antibody

PKD polyclonal antibody

PKD2 polyclonal antibody

PKD 916 phospho sevine polyclonal antibody

Antibodies from chickens:
Chicken anti-gastrin HG17 antibody #18
Chicken anti-5HT3R antibody #17
Chicken anti-substance-P antibody #16
Chicken anti-NK1 antibody #19

Antibodies have been produced and validated against the following receptors:

rat CCK-A
human CCK-A
dog CCK-B
rat CCK-B
human CCK-B
human NK-1
Rat NK1, NK2, NK3
rat 5HT3R
rat GRPR
rat NPY1
rat GALRI
rat GALRII
rat SSTR2A, SSTR2B, SSTR1, SSTR3, SSTR5

New Probes:

CY3 labeled peptides. In collaboration with the Peptide Biochemistry and Molecular Probes Core, routine procedures were developed to conjugate and purify peptides with CY3 flouroscence. CY3-labeled peptides such as Lys-BBS, Lys-Gastrin, and Lys-CCK are useful for cell sorting procedures for CURE investigators. CY3-labeled affinity purified IgG of antibodies available at the Core laboratory are useful in immunocytochemistry studies and for confocal microscopy.

Receptor binding grade 125I-labeled ligand. The laboratory has developed routine procedures to iodinate and purify peptides for receptor binding assays for CURE investigators using Bolton-Hunter or Lactose Peroxidase methods.
